We are super excited to help kick off Pharrell William’s Something In The Water Festival in DC by being a panelist at Black Ambition’s “So Ambitious Dinner”. Hosted at the Gathering Spot DC, it was not only a night of advancing the culture it was a night for founders and innovators to connect. Black Ambition is a dynamic fund to bold ideas and companies led by Black and Latinx entrepreneurs.
Founder Sherrel Samson shared the stage with brilliant entrepreneurs and builders such as Danie Spikes (BeLoved, Inc), Aleesha Worthington (Quallis Brands Co) & Justin Turk (Livegistics, Inc). Her three key take aways from the night were:
- Focus on People, Passion & Perseverance – spend a significant amount of time assembling the best possible team that complements your skill set and create strong dynamics in terms of culture & commitment.
- Have a High Tolerance for Failure – Failure is a part of discovering the problems and working together as a team to solve them. Being able to identify failure gives the team the ability to adapt and succeed at finding and solving problems.
- Build Your Company Around a Great Product – It’s of the utmost importance to focus on making great products and services. To drive repeat demand, customers must be happy and that’s done by delivering a product or service that they value and enjoy.
The “So Ambitious Dinner” was a true display of networking, fellowship and #BlackExcellence. What a way to kickoff the Juneteenth Weekend
