TAMPA – Canviiy, LLC. has been awarded a national group purchasing agreement for Ethnic Hair, Scalp and Skincare Products with Premier, Inc. This new agreement allows Premier members, at their discretion, to take advantage of special pricing and terms pre-negotiated by Premier to meet the unique needs of diverse patients.
As the nation’s largest Health Care Group Purchasing Organization (GPO), Premier Inc. worked closely with Canviiy® to create & define a new category, ‘Ethnic Hair, Scalp & Skincare’ to provide healthcare systems with solutions to address the disparities and unique hair care needs for diverse patients in North America. In Premier’s mission to achieve better health care for all, it recognized that a segment of the population was being underserved. In an effort to serve this specific patient population, Canviiy was recognized for its product innovation & efficacy and was awarded an historic contract to supply approximately 4,400 hospitals and healthcare systems in the U.S. with premium products to meet the needs of diverse patients. Additionally, this will give more oncology hospitals access to its award-winning ScalpBliss™ solutions, as Canviiy already has partnerships with three of the top 25 Cancer Centers; Moffitt Cancer Center, City of Hope (LA) and Harvard’s Dana Farber Cancer Center in which the brand has offered healthier alternatives to improve the scalp health of oncology patients. This announcement comes two months post Canviiy launching into Walmart, the world’s largest retailer. The premium organic-based scalp & hair care line will be carried in over 600 Walmart stores and as a demonstration of Walmart’s commitment to the brand, they are testing the brand in both the Scalp Care and Multicultural hair care sections. With the addition of Walmart to Canviiy’s retailer network which includes CVS & Sally Beauty, the brand is confident they will provide an optimal patient experience both during and after treatment.
Sherrel Sampson, Founder & CEO of Canviiy, shared “This is truly an historic milestone for our company, given the opportunity to spearhead the category creation alongside Premier’s Supplier Diversity Team led by Deborah Williams and now being the first to be awarded a contract in this category truly speaks volumes about our commitment to innovation & excellence. We are honored to partner with healthcare systems across North America to address the disparities that exist for black and brown populations. In future years, minority populations will be the country’s main demographic engine of change and it’s essential that hospitals continue to drive cultural competence by delivering effective, quality care to diverse patients. We are even more thrilled for Canviiy to be a trailblazer in healthcare, as this initiative has created more opportunities for black-owned brands to compete in this ecosystem. The tremendous activity & interest we are receiving has been incredible, our contract went live several days ago and we’ve already received annual spend commitments from top tier institutions.”
“In today’s culture climate, the choice to be culturally sensitive is no longer an option, it is a necessity to build patient trust and serve the needs of diverse patient populations. At Premier, we listened to the needs of our members and pioneering this new category to deliver premium ethnic hair, scalp and skincare products was a strategic priority to equip our members with solutions to evolve their overall continuum of patient care,” said Deborah Williams, Senior Director of Supplier Diversity of Premier Inc.
